| We are currently recruiting
FSFP panel members through invitation letters sent to a
random stratified sample of persons holding licenses
that allow them to fish in saltwater in Florida. Although
your invitation entitles you to become part of this
carefully designed survey sample, we welcome the
opportunity for others to participate in our research
and to become a member of our second panel. The data
collected from the surveys administered to the second
panel will be used to augment the data from
the primary panel surveys and will increase the
precision of our models and estimates.
We are hoping that
word-of-mouth promotion by anglers and
notices in fishing-related media will help us to
recruit additional persons to our second panel.
Statistical comparisons will be performed to determine
if persons recruited to our second panel through
alternative means are representative of all persons who
hold saltwater fishing licenses. The panels recruited
through these two means will be statistically weighted
and combined to form one panel that is representative of
all licensed Florida saltwater anglers.
